SIXTREND is a growing custom furniture company, and we’re looking for an experienced Sewing & Cutting Specialist to join our production team. This is an on-site position at our North York facility.

This role is for candidates with prior experience (minimum 2 years) sewing upholstery materials such as heavy fabrics, leathers and vinyls. Applications without this experience will not be considered.

Join our dynamic team as an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator specializing in upholstery for sofas, sofa beds, chairs, and other specialty upholstered products! In this role, you'll be at the heart of the manufacturing process, transforming raw materials into beautifully crafted furniture pieces. Your expertise will ensure high-quality stitching and assembly, contributing to the comfort and style of our customers’ homes.

Responsibilities

- Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble upholstery components for sofas and chairs with precision and care
- Follow detailed work instructions and quality standards to ensure consistent product excellence
- Inspect finished pieces for defects, ensuring all seams are secure and meet safety and durability requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation to promote safety and efficiency throughout your shift
- Assist with material handling,



including loading fabric rolls and managing cut pieces within the production area
- Collaborate with upholsterers and other team members to meet daily production goals while maintaining high-quality standards
- Report any machine malfunctions or quality issues promptly to supervisor for quick resolution
- When required, cut fabric according to patterns

Qualifications

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Understanding of safety procedures within a manufacturing setting
- Previous furniture patternmaking expierence is an asset
