Role Description The Intermediate or Senior Technologist will support project teams by preparing detailed architectural drawings, technical documentation, and specifications for a range of building types. This full-time role is based in Toronto, ON, with a mix of in-office collaboration and work-from-home flexibility.
Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with architects, consultants, and contractors, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with codes and standards, and assisting with design development and construction documents. The role also involves reviewing shop drawings, contributing to quality control processes, and helping to resolve technical issues during contract documents and construction.
The technologist will participate in project meetings, maintain organized project files, and help implement best practices and firm standards across all deliverables.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in architectural drafting and detailing, with proficiency in Revit
- Experience producing construction documents, specifications, and technical reports, with careful attention to accuracy and clarity, including maintaining design intent and vision
- Solid understanding of Ontario Building Code, applicable standards, building systems, and constructability considerations
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors, and to manage multiple deadlines
- Relevant diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field; professional certification is an asset
- Minimim 5 years of experience in an architectural practice, ideally at intermediate or senior technologist level and on complex projects
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to collaborative working approaches
- Experience with digital collaboration tools, and previous work on aerospace, healthcare, industrial or large-scale projects is beneficial.
