The Inventory and Costing Clerk is responsible for managing costing processes, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting supply chain coordination. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate production costing, efficient inventory management, and timely communication with internal teams and external partners. Working closely with the Director of Finance and production teams, the Inventory and Costing Clerk contributes to operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and effective decision-making.

Responsibilities

- Reconcile production and inventory data to prepare accurate daily costing reports.
- Distribute costing reports to the management team and support data-driven decision-making.
- Organize and file costing and inventory documents systematically for audit readiness and future reference.
- Prepare recall documentation and mass balance paperwork as required to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Send daily production summary emails to customers as requested.
- Obtain and provide product specifications, lead times, photos, and other packaging and ingredient details as needed.
- Order packaging and ingredient supplies based on production requirements, obtaining approval from the Director of Finance.
- Arrange logistics and transportation for incoming supplies and materials.
- Reconcile all receiving documentation and prepare files for transfer to accounts payable.
- Release packaging and ingredient inventory based on production reports and requirements.
- Enter inbound, outbound, and shipment data into inventory systems accurately and promptly.




- Provide backup support to administrative staff, including preparing documents for cold storage and generating shipping manifests.
- Support additional administrative tasks as needed to ensure productive plant operations.

Requirements

- 2–4 years of experience in inventory, costing, or supply chain support, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
- High school diploma required; additional training in warehousing, logistics, or production operations is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in costing and data entry.
- Proficiency with inventory management and costing software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
- Knowledge of production documentation, recall processes, and mass balance requirements is an asset.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with production teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and support plant operations as needed.
- Experience with quality documentation, forklift or pallet jack operation, or food processing environments is considered an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
