The Software Asset Management Specialist is responsible for managing the software assets of the organization effectively. This role requires extensive knowledge of software publishers, particularly IBM, VMware, SAP and Microsoft, Oracle to ensure compliance, optimal utilization, and cost-efficiency. The specialist works closely with Program Managers, IT teams, procurement, finance, and legal departments to maintain accurate records, track licensing agreements, and support software audits.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Experience in creating process documents, frameworks and operating models with capabilities based on findings and recommendations.
2. Experience of Service catalogue workflow designing to automate Software Asset Management lifecycle.
3. Provide license consultation to customers on various software applications.
4. Ability to implement software asset management (SAM) policies, processes, and procedures to activate SAM governance module.
5. Conduct periodic internal audits to identify and address any gaps or discrepancies in software license usage, monitor usage patterns and identify opportunities for software license re-harvesting or re-allocation.
6. Provide recommendations on software optimization and license consolidation to reduce costs and ensure license compliance.

Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favourable licensing Contracts with software publishers.
8. Reviewing software contracts end to end to get a clear understanding of purchase history, understanding relationship between parent and child contracts, compliance, optimize usage, mitigate risks and analyzing termination and renewal clause.
9. Experience of handling a minimum of 5 Tier -1 and Tier -2 publishers specifically IBM, VMware, SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, Redhat, Salesforce and Engineering & SAAS applications.
10. Detailing of ELP including full capacity on analysis of entitlement, usage summarization, identifying financial & compliance risk and cost optimization opportunities.
11. Rich experience on driving ELP findings with application owners and baselining on the recommendations and obtaining signoff.
12. Knowledge or participated in any external software audits conducted by vendors/Publishers to ensure accuracy and fairness.
13. Experience in mitigating risk of production outages in case of contract obligations with vendors, lead the recommended remediation plan and actions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Strong knowledge of software asset management principles and practices and SAM Tools such as Remedy, SNOW, ServiceNow SAM/HAM Pro.
2. Any SAM tool Architectural workflow understanding or Knowledge.
3. CSAM Certified is positive to have.
4. Solid problem solving and consultative skillset.
5. Strong presentation, communication, multitasking and time management skillset.
6. Good communication skills displaying timely and accurate information sharing with active listening skillset.
7. Knowledge of creating Project plan for the client.
8. ITIL V3 0r 4 certified
9. Audit Readiness skillset.
