Force Tubular Solutions a leading oilfield asset and tubular management and services company to the upstream oil and gas industry. Its core business revolves around drill pipe, drill tools, sucker rods, casing and production tubing, coating services, and tubular products for production and completion. Force’s services include in-plant and mobile inspection, repair, machining, and manufacturing.
The Journeyman Welder is responsible for fitting, welding, repairing, and finishing company equipment and customer work used in drill pipe and tubular inspection operations. This role works in a shop environment, reads job requirements, sets up materials, completes quality welds, and helps keep equipment safe, reliable, and ready for field use. The position requires a strong focus on safe work, good workmanship, and practical problem solving on the tools.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fit, tack, weld, and finish assigned jobs accurately and safely, following work orders, drawings, measurements, and customer requirements.
- Check material, parts, consumables, fit-up, and tolerances before welding to make sure the finished work meets job requirements and customer specifications.
- Build welded assemblies from supplied parts, cut material, or raw components as required for the job.
- Repair, modify, and maintain company-designed equipment used in drill pipe, tubular, and inspection operations.
- Complies with Force Inspection’s Health & Safety program and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Journeyman Welder ticket required; Red Seal or applicable trade certification is an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience welding, fitting, fabrication, or equipment repair experience, preferably in a shop, oilfield, tubular, or industrial setting.
- Valid Driver’s Licence & clean drivers abstract.
- Must be willing to travel to other facilities as needed, for occasional assignments or support.
- Mechanically inclined, with the ability to troubleshoot fit-up issues, equipment repairs, and day-to-day shop problems.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, grinders, cutting tools, measuring tolls and welding equipment safely and correctly.
- Positive hand/eye coordination and attention to detail when fitting, measuring, welding, grinding, and finishing work.
- Dependable and able to work safely with minimal supervision while keeping jobs moving and communicating issues when they come up.
- Able to communicate clearly with supervisors, inspectors, and shop or field crews about job status, repair needs, measurements, and safety concerns.
Special Conditions:
- Must be able to work in a shop environment around welding, grinding, fabrication work, and moving equipment.
- Overtime, shift changes, or occasional call-ins may be required based on workload and customer deadlines.
- Must wear required PPE and follow safe work practices at all times.
