KITCHEN & COUNTER STAFF — FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME

OVERVIEW

Via Gnocchi is a small, fast-paced takeout restaurant specializing in affordable gnocchi with tomato sauce. We’re hiring a reliable and friendly person to help prepare food, serve customers and keep the restaurant running smoothly.

You do not need full-time availability. We are especially interested in someone who can reliably work a few consistent shifts each week. Full-time hours may also be available for the right person.

Because our team is small, you must be comfortable working independently, taking initiative and noticing what needs to be done without constantly being directed. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is helpful but not required—we can train someone with the right attitude, work ethic and reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare, cook, portion and assemble food according to Via Gnocchi’s recipes and standards
- Greet customers warmly and provide quick, friendly service
- Take orders and process cash and card payments using the Square POS system
- Restock ingredients, drinks, packaging and supplies throughout the shift
- Keep the kitchen, counter, equipment and service areas clean and organized
- Follow food-handling, sanitation and food-safety procedures
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accurate portions and presentation
- Open or close the restaurant when scheduled




- Complete cleaning and preparation tasks without needing constant supervision
- Communicate clearly about inventory, equipment or operational issues

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Reliable, punctual and able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Friendly, patient and welcoming with customers
- Able to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to prepare food, serve customers, clean and help wherever needed
- Able to follow recipes, portions and instructions consistently
- Available for a combination of daytime, evening, weekend or late-night shifts
- Lives nearby or has a dependable commute to Bathurst and Bloor
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset but not required
- Previous kitchen, restaurant, cashier or customer-service experience is an asset but not required
- Ideally likes pasta
