Job Summary

In this lively role, you'll support the kitchen operations by assisting with washing the dishes, food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help keep the kitchen running smoothly, enabling chefs to focus on creating delicious meals.

Duties

- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients to support chefs and cooks
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, equipment, and dining areas to uphold food safety standards
- Support food handling procedures by following proper hygiene practices and storage protocols
- Ensure all kitchen areas are organized, stocked with necessary supplies, and ready for service
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent contamination and accidents
- Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food-preparation areas.




- Prepare and organize food trays for service.
- Carry and transport trays of prepared food upstairs, requiring the ability to safely lift, carry, and handle food trays and navigate stairs.
- Follow all kitchen hygiene, food-safety, and workplace-safety procedures.
- Assist the kitchen team with other duties as required.

Requirements
- Physically fit and able to perform a job that requires strength, stamina, lifting, carrying, standing, and frequent movement throughout the day.
- Able to safely carry food trays upstairs multiple times during the workday.
- Reliable, energetic, responsible, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Previous kitchen or food-service experience is an asset but not required.
