Overview

We are looking for an experienced, dependable Landscaping Foreman to lead a crew and oversee residential and commercial landscape construction projects.

This is a hands-on leadership position. We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to work alongside the crew, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, can keep projects moving efficiently, and represents our company professionally with customers.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise a landscaping crew on daily job sites
- Organize daily tasks and keep the crew productive and on schedule
- Read plans, measurements, grades, elevations, and job specifications
- Oversee projects from site preparation through final completion
- Ensure work meets company quality standards
- Train and mentor apprentices and less-experienced crew members
- Communicate professionally with customers, management, suppliers, and other trades
- Identify job-site issues and help develop practical solutions
- Track materials and communicate material/equipment requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Perform daily equipment inspections and ensure equipment is properly maintained
- Ensure proper use of PPE and secure operating procedures
- Work alongside the crew when required

Landscape Construction Experience The ideal candidate will have experience with several of the following:

- Interlock and paver installation
- Retaining walls
- Grading and site preparation
- Excavation
- Drainage
- Sod installation
- Gardens and planting
- Trees and shrubs
- Fencing
- Concrete and hardscape preparation
- Armour stone and natural stone
- Landscape lighting




- General property construction and improvements

Equipment Experience Experience operating equipment such as:

- Mini skid steers
- Skid steers
- Mini excavators
- Plate compactors
- Cut-off/concrete saws
- Laser levels
- Power tools and landscaping equipment

Qualifications

- Previous landscape construction experience required
- Previous crew-lead or foreman experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of grading, measurements, drainage, base preparation, and landscape construction practices
- Ability to lead and motivate a crew
- Strong attention to detail
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Dependable and punctual
- Professional attitude when dealing with customers
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to safely drive a truck and trailer is an asset
