Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Learning Technology to lead the end-to-end delivery of a major enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) transformation initiative.
This individual will manage a complex, multi-year technology implementation involving system configuration, data migration, integrations, testing, deployment, business readiness, and transition to business-as-usual operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of enterprise technology project delivery, Learning & Development or HR technology experience, vendor management, executive stakeholder engagement, and governance expertise.
You will work closely with business, technology, learning, compliance, and external implementation partners while managing multiple interconnected workstreams in a complex stakeholder environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the planning and execution of large-scale enterprise technology and LMS transformation initiatives.
- Develop and manage integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, critical paths, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Manage multiple workstreams with complex interdependencies.
- Monitor and manage project scope, risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, decisions, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, budget, quality, and schedule expectations.
- Maintain adherence to enterprise project governance and delivery standards.
LMS Implementation & Technology Delivery
- Lead end-to-end LMS implementation activities, including configuration, deployment, transition, and stabilization.
- Translate business requirements into actionable project plans and deliverables.
- Coordinate data migration planning, validation, and readiness activities.
- Oversee testing strategies, test execution, defect management, and readiness assessments.
- Coordinate system integration, user acceptance testing, production readiness, and deployment activities.
- Support transition to operational teams and successful handoff to BAU.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Build strong relationships across business, technology, Learning & Development, HR, compliance, and external partners.
- Manage third-party implementation partners and vendors.
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments involving executive governance and Steering Committees.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, working sessions, executive reviews, and decision-making forums.
- Escalate and resolve project issues in a timely and effective manner.
Governance & Executive Reporting
- Prepare executive dashboards, status reports, RAID logs, governance materials, and Steering Committee presentations.
- Present project progress, risks, issues, recommendations, and key decisions to senior leadership.
- Support effective decision-making through clear analysis, reporting, and communication.
Change Management & Business Readiness
- Partner with change management and communications teams to support adoption and organizational readiness.
- Ensure stakeholders are prepared for upcoming releases, technology changes, and new processes.
- Support post-deployment stabilization and transition activities.
Core Technical Skills
Required
- 7+ years of project management experience.
- Experience leading large-scale enterprise system or technology implementations and upgrades .
- Strong experience with:
- Project planning and execution
- Schedule and milestone management
- Budget and financial management
- Risk, issue, and dependency management
- Vendor and third-party partner management
- Project governance and executive reporting
- Experience managing projects involving:
- System configuration
- Data migration
- Testing and defect management
- User acceptance testing
- System integrations
- Deployment and production readiness
- Experience managing multiple workstreams with complex dependencies.
- Experience working within Learning & Development, Human Resources, Talent, Workforce Enablement, or related business functions .
- Experience managing complex stakeholder environments, including executive leadership and Steering Committees.
- Experience with HRIS, Talent, Learning Technology, or related enterprise platforms.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Learning, HR, Business, Technology, or a related discipline.
Preferred
- Experience leading Learning Management System implementation, modernization, upgrade, or migration initiatives .
- Experience with one or more of the following platforms:
- Workday Learning
- SumTotal
- Cornerstone
- SAP SuccessFactors
- Degreed
- EdCast
- Sana
- Similar enterprise learning platforms
- Experience supporting bilingual or multilingual technology implementations.
- PMP, Agile, Scrum, Secure, or equivalent project delivery certification.
Nice to Have
- Experience with learning analytics and reporting.
- Experience with digital learning ecosystems and delivery models.
- Knowledge of learning operations and administration.
