Primary Responsibilities
Supervision
- Ability to effectively manage multiple crews.
- Promote and carry out all RWC Company’s values which include quality and productivity at all times.
- Attend scheduled site meetings and record meeting notes.
- Maintain communication to Site Supervisor, CSO’s, RWC office and Sub Contractors.
Quality Control:
- Report any potential extras beyond the contract to Project Manager.
- Perform onsite material & quantity take-offs.
- Check quality of work performed by crews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ability to perform all jobs on the work site needed. (Jobs include steel stud framing, drywall, suspended drywall systems).
Health and Safety:
- Enforce all General Contractor guidelines and regulations as well as compliance with all of RWC safety requirements.
- Promote importance of safety procedures and proper equipment use at all times.
- Maintain a safe work site by instructing crews how to use tools and equipment, handle materials, and use proper safety gear.
- Ensure all safe work procedures are available for workers to review.
Site Inspections:
- Facilitate site inspections and maintain documentation.
- Record and implement corrective actions.
- Support risk assessment continually.
- Monitor safety performance for risk determination.
- Ensure all documentation is submitted to appropriate departments.
Incident Reporting:
- Submit all incident and injury reports (medical, non-medical, near miss, hazard recognition, lost time injuries).
- Report major incidents to Director of Operations.
- Facilitate incident follow up.
- Obtain witness statements when required.
- Assist with investigations.
- Present safety material and concerns at Foremen’s meetings.
- Promote a respectful workplace.
Planning and Scheduling:
- Perform or delegate site layout.
- Organize crew tasks.
- Perform Time and Materials work using T/M Procedure.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Solid command of the English language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness
- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the trade
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Proficiency with technology, including use of tablets (iPad)
Experience, Training, and Qualifications
- 5–8 years of relevant trade experience
- Red Seal certification (completed or in progress is preferred)
- Valid Level 1 First Aid certification
- Boom and Scissor Lift certification
- Fall Protection certification
- Supervisor Responsibility Training
Working Conditions: Working conditions vary depending on the project. Work may be performed outdoors, indoors, or in partially enclosed areas and may involve standing, walking, lifting, kneeling, and bending.
