Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Accounting, this role is responsible for managing the Investment Accounting team deliverables, consolidating and interpreting investment business unit financial information and producing key financial statement note disclosure. This role involves significant collaboration and coordination with the broader Corporate Finance group and the Investment Finance and Operations team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting and analysis for financial instruments and demonstrate expertise in IFRS accounting and reporting. Combining this experience with knowledge of financial systems, internal controls and a desire to optimize processes will make for a well-rounded applicant. The person who fills this role will be a key member of the OMERS Corporate Finance team.

Support the corporate investment accounting function, which facilitates the consolidation of investment results and reporting on associated insights; reconciliation of data and provision of operational support to OMERS Investment Finance and Operations
- Preparation of key financial statement note disclosures and other internal and external reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory standards
- Reviewing financial statement note disclosures prepared by senior analysts,
with strong attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain key movements and underlying drivers
- Researching and documenting complex accounting and financial reporting issues to support the development of accounting policies and enhancement of financial statement presentation, with a particular focus on financial instruments
- Identifying opportunities for operational improvements and to leverage automation tools to increase the control environment and efficiency of recurring processes
- Ensuring the maintenance and continuous improvement of process documentation and strong internal controls over financial accounting and reporting
- Continuous learning and understanding of investment strategies and transactions
- Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting 5+ years of experience in reporting, accounting, and controls within a financial services environment. Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, or finance with a CPA designation. Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards, particularly as they relate to investments and financial instruments.
Experience documenting conclusions and recommendations on technical accounting matters. Ability to guide work, provide oversight, and support team performance and development.

Consistent track record of delivering high-quality work in a timely manner. Systems & Technology (Asset) Experience with Oracle (including ARCS), Alteryx, Power Query, and Workiva. Proven commitment to leading and developing accounting professionals to achieve both business objectives and individual growth goals.
