Reporting to the College Librarian, this position provides public services to library patrons.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs general circulation duties in support of the Library’s public service operations
- Shelving materials; shelf reading; producing ID cards for students and staff
- Providing general orientation, direction, and instruction to library patrons;
- Maintaining and demonstrating peripheral equipment to patrons (copiers, printers, microfilm reader, etc.)
- Assists with processing interlibrary loan requests
- Assists with processing student & staff ID card requests
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Ability to work proficiently with Integrated Library System (ILS) software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, photocopying and printing
- Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, customer service, and multi-tasking skills
Education and Experience
- Library Technician Diploma, or currently enrolled in a Library Technician program
- Library experience, preferably in an academic library
This is an on-call position (0%), commencing August 31, 2026. Salary will be Pay Grade 6, $30.76 per hour in accordance with the PPWC Collective Agreement.
