Lead creative projects as the Manager of Development Engineering for the City of Nanaimo. Oversee engineering planning and development, ensuring community-focused outcomes. The City of Nanaimo is looking for a permanent, full-time Manager of Development Engineering.

This role reports directly to the Director of Planning & Development, involving independent judgment in reviewing complex development proposals. Applicants will bring at least five years of supervisory experience along with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. Key Responsibilities:

- Manage planning and directing of development engineering projects
- Oversee review processes for development proposals and plans




- Collaborate with various stakeholders including developers and the community
- Implement policies to enhance departmental effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in management
- Eligibility for membership in Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence
- Strong leadership and communication skills
