Position: Manufacturing Cost & Inventory Control Analyst The Manufacturing Cost & Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for managing production jobs within the ERP system, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting manufacturing cost analysis and reporting. Working closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance teams, this role ensures accurate production transactions, inventory integrity, standard costing, and variance analysis while identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Production Job Management

- Plan, release, and monitor production work orders
- Ensure work orders contain accurate product designs, materials, and customer requirements
- Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams regarding custom product requirements
- Resolve BOM and technical drawing discrepancies
- Monitor labour usage against work orders and identify variances
- Review and close work orders accurately
- Investigate production transaction discrepancies
- Support accurate manufacturing activity reporting
- Create reports related to labour efficiency, inventory, and production performance

Inventory Management

- Manage raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory
- Maintain inventory master data, locations, and warehouse bins
- Configure and maintain min/max replenishment levels
- Conduct ABC inventory analysis
- Manage obsolete, excess, and slow-moving inventory
- Monitor transfers, receipts, issues, and adjustments
- Conduct cycle counts and annual physical inventories
- Analyse inventory trends, turnover, demand forecasts, and stock valuations




- Drive inventory accuracy and warehouse process improvements

Manufacturing Cost Management

- Calculate standard costs
- Perform cost variance analysis
- Prepare monthly manufacturing cost reports
- Support month-end close activities
- Identify cost reduction opportunities

Required Skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting)
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Robust communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
- 2-3 years of manufacturing experience
- Experience with inventory management and stock reconciliation within ERP systems
- Production planning experience
- Experience with cycle counts and inventory control
- Epicor or Visual ERP experience is considered an asset
