Job Title: Logistics Coordinator II
Location: La Prairie, Quebec, Canada
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Job Summary
My client is seeking a Logistics Coordinator II to support the planning and coordination of incoming and outgoing materials while ensuring shipments meet customer and project delivery requirements. This role will coordinate domestic and international transportation, monitor customs activities, and work closely with Procurement, Project Management, Production Planning, suppliers, customers, and transportation carriers.
Fluent French and English communication skills are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and optimize shipments of tooling and materials to customers.
- Plan and coordinate incoming materials from international suppliers using air, ocean, and road transportation.
- Monitor shipments from supplier pickup through final delivery and proactively address delays or transportation issues.
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure materials are received on time.
- Work closely with Project Management to support customer delivery commitments.
- Collaborate with Production Planning to schedule shipments based on shipping team capacity.
- Monitor and support customs transactions and customs classifications.
- Ensure required transportation, shipping,
and import/export documentation is complete and accurate.
- Coordinate with international customers, suppliers, freight carriers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support transportation of dangerous goods/hazardous materials in Canada and the United States.
- Make timely decisions and resolve logistics issues in a rapid-paced industrial environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics, transportation, freight, or supply chain, preferably with import/export responsibilities.
- Fluent in both French and English – mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with international shipping and customs/import-export processes.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms and HS/HSN codes.
- Knowledge of transportation documentation and import/export requirements.
- Experience coordinating shipments by air, ocean, and road.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation requirements in Canada and/or the U.S.
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Basic experience with an ERP system; SAP preferred.
- Strong planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with urgency and make quick decisions when shipment issues arise.
