Under the TenaxTM brand, Teijin Carbon is a global leader in high-performance carbon fiber products used in demanding applications where lightweighting, durability, and performance are critical.
The Business Unit’s portfolio includes filament yarns, short fibers, thermoplastic and thermoset intermediate materials, dry reinforcements, and Pyromex® oxidized polyacrylonitrile fiber for flame-resistant applications. These materials support a wide range of industrial and advanced composite markets, including aerospace, energy, transportation, civil engineering, pressure vessels, and other engineered applications.
The Industrial Marketing organization plays a central role in shaping long-term growth by identifying market opportunities, supporting strategic customers, and aligning commercial, technical, and global marketing efforts.
Job SummaryThe Marketing Engineer – Industry is a business-minded technical marketing role responsible for driving sustainable growth across Teijin Carbon’s Industrial markets in North and South America.
This position focuses on market strategy development, long-term forecasting, competitive intelligence, and close collaboration with key industrial customers. The role interfaces closely with Sales, Technical Service, R&D;,
and global Marketing teams to align customer needs with Teijin’s product portfolio and long-term strategy.
The Marketing Engineer – Industry supports industrial segments such as Civil Engineering, Transportation, Machinery, Rollers, Energy, Pressure Vessels, and other non-aerospace composite applications. The role contributes to long-term market analysis and strategic planning to guide investments, portfolio evolution, and commercial priorities.
The position reports to the Director of Marketing and Strategy – Americas and operates under the strategic leadership of the Global Industrial Market Leader, currently based in Germany. Occasional international travel to Germany and Japan is required.
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities· Develop and maintain Industrial market growth strategies in collaboration with the global Industrial team and key customers, balancing customer satisfaction with sustainable long-term financial performance.
· Collaborate closely with Sales to support revenue planning, pipeline prioritization, and short- and long-term forecasting for Industrial market activities.
· Coordinate and support long-term commercial and framework contract activities for Industrial markets, in alignment with legal guidance, corporate policies, and established approval processes.
· Lead Industrial market intelligence activities, including competitor analysis, market trend evaluation, and development of strategic recommendations to support business decision-making.
· Define and communicate value propositions, positioning, and target applications for Industrial products, aligning customer needs with Teijin Carbon’s portfolio and long-term strategy.
· Provide long-term market assessments and forecasts to support portfolio development, capacity planning, investment decisions, and strategic roadmap discussions.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Business, or a related technical field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
· Proven experience in the industrial composite business
· Strong understanding of composite materials, carbon fiber, or engineered materials markets, with the ability to translate technical concepts into transparent market strategies.
· Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Technical Service, R&D;, Operations, and global teams.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with customers, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
· Comfortable operating in an international environment and collaborating across cultures and regions.
· Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; experience with CRM systems and market analysis tools is a plus.
