Overview

We are looking for a motivated, detail oriented, and enthusiastic full-time or part-time medical office administrator (MOA) for Dr Borsook's busy general surgery office. The full-time position supports our office operations each weekday Monday-Friday, about 40 hours a week. There is flexibility regarding work schedule and location when schedule allows. Part-time positions can be negotiated.

Dr. Borsook's general surgery office is located at Belleville General Hospital (BGH). The office provides a full breadth of general surgery care including surgical procedures, endoscopy, minor procedures and office consultations.

Our office and outpatient clinic is located in BGH in the Women's Christian Association (WCA) Wing. We provide an inclusive environment that fosters a welcoming atmosphere for patients and office staff. We strongly value professionalism, excellence in performance, and mutual respect.

Dr. Borsook does work at multiple hospital sites within Quinte Health (QH) including in Trenton and Picton in addition to Belleville. The advertised position will be in Belleville.

Key Responsibilities as MOA:

Answering phones, assisting patients with scheduling appointments

Maintaining wait lists for Dr Borsook's office - for surgical and nonsurgical procedures

Greeting patients during clinic, checking them in, updating all relevant information

Maintaining patient data base, filing incoming faxes and emails, scanning documents and filing in electronic medical record (EMR)





Independently communicating with corresponding QH offices and other health care providers to coordinate care for patients and for procedure bookings in a timely fashion

Maintain a tidy and organized office

Required Skills

Must have at least 1 year of experience as a Medical Office Assistant in a medical office setting or similar role. Experience in a surgical practice is an asset.

Must be able to communicate with patients and other health care workers in a professional, effective, and respectful way.

Must be able to thrive in a busy environment, adapt to shifting priorities and be able to function effectively in an independent fashion.

Must be flexible, very motivated, and very focused on the task on hand. Meticulous record keeping and exceptional attention to detail is critical

Must have strong computer skills (EMR, MS Office, Adobe), experience with Accuro EMR, Lumeo and/or Novari is an asset.

Must have basic command of medical terminology with strong written and oral skills.

Maintain strict confidentiality and a skilled attitude
