Our client, a well-established organization supporting the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Membership Development Representative to join their team an incremental hire. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, results-driven sales professional who thrives in a new business development environment. Focused on engaging small and mid-sized manufacturers, you will be responsible for identifying new prospects, building relationships with key decision-makers, and communicating the value of membership.
This role is ideal for a strong hunter who is comfortable with outbound prospecting, cold outreach, and managing the sales cycle from initial conversation through close.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and identify prospective manufacturing companies throughout the greater London area
- Develop and maintain a pipeline through cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, networking, and other prospecting methods
- Establish initial relationships with business owners, plant managers, and other senior manufacturing decision-makers
- Lead discovery conversations to understand prospect needs and position membership as a valuable solution
- Present membership benefits in a clear and compelling way based on each prospect’s priorities
- Manage the sales cycle from initial outreach through closing and membership conversion
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects, addressing questions and objections throughout the process
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, networking opportunities, and regional activities to build awareness and generate new business
- Keep CRM records current, including prospect activity, meetings, opportunities, and sales progress
- Work closely with internal teams to support a positive and efficient onboarding experience for new members
- Contribute to a positive,
member-focused culture while remaining accountable for individual sales results
- Take on additional responsibilities as required
Key Indicators of Success
- Building a consistent flow of new prospects within the manufacturing community
- Achieving or surpassing new membership revenue and acquisition goals
- Developing and maintaining a well-qualified sales pipeline
- Demonstrating strong organization, CRM management, and follow-up habits
- Establishing trusted relationships and credibility with manufacturing decision-makers throughout the region
Competencies and Qualifications
- Previous experience in outbound business development or sales; experience selling memberships, professional services, associations, or other B2B offerings is an asset
- Solid history of achieving sales quotas or other measurable business development goals
- Comfortable with prospecting, cold outreach, rejection, and maintaining persistence over multiple touchpoints
- Ability to communicate and sell the value of an intangible product or service
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
- Commercially minded with the ability to recognize new business opportunities and turn them into sales
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office
- Highly organized, self-directed, and motivated by measurable results
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with a broader team
- Additional Requirement: Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required for this position.
This opportunity offers a base salary of $55,000–$65,000, depending on experience, plus variable pay.
