We Are Hiring: Mental Health Clinician

Pata'yi Primary Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our growing team. This role is rooted in cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, and a decolonizing approach to mental wellness. You will provide direct clinical services to individuals, families, and communities across the 10 North Vancouver Island Nations, supporting healing journeys in both community and urban settings.

Permanent Position: 21 hours per week. Work across North Vancouver Island communities and urban partner sites. Travel required (including remote communities, occasional overnight stay. Personal Vehicle Required. Vulnerable Criminal Record Check required. Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants.

What You’ll Do

· Provide intake, counselling, assessment, and mental health interventions for individuals and families.

· Support healing and treatment planning while connecting clients to their Circle of Care.

· Conduct suicide risk, threat/risk, trauma, and addictions assessments.

· Collaborate with Primary Care team members, Traditional Healers, Elders,



families, and community supports.

· Maintain accurate documentation (EMR, work plans, incident reporting) and uphold confidentiality standards.

What You Bring

· Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

· Current registration in B.C. with an applicable professional governing body (RCC, CCC, or RSW).

· 5–7 years of experience working within complex social systems.

· Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience in mental health and/or addictions.

· Training and experience in trauma response, brief intervention approaches (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, etc.), and risk/threat assessment.

· Strong experience supporting First Nations clients and communities using holistic, culturally grounded approaches.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $42.00-$52.00 per hour
