Making Space Psychotherapy
Canada
Part-Time | Remote | Day and Early Evening Availability
Making Space Psychotherapy is looking for an exceptional communicator to conduct phone consultations with prospective clients and thoughtfully match them with therapists across our team.
This is not a traditional administrative intake position, and it is not a therapy role.
It is a highly conversational role for someone who can quickly make people feel comfortable, listen for what matters, think on their feet, and confidently help someone take the next step toward beginning therapy.
You may come from mental health, healthcare intake, treatment coordination, recruitment, client relations or consultative sales. Wherever you gained your experience, you know how to have a warm, natural conversation while still keeping it moving somewhere.
This position is remote, but must be performed from within Ontario. Applicants must currently reside in Ontario and be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Please read the application instructions at the bottom carefully.
About Us.
Making Space Psychotherapy is an established, full-service trauma and relationship therapy clinic serving Hamilton, Burlington and across Ontario.
Our team supports adults, teens, children, couples, families and triads. Our work is depth-oriented and focused on trauma, attachment history and nervous system repair, while also supporting a wide range of mental health concerns.
We are known for thoughtful, specialized care and a team culture that values integrity, curiosity, accountability and humour.
Beginning therapy can feel vulnerable and overwhelming. The first person a prospective client speaks with can make an enormous difference in whether they feel understood, hopeful and ready to begin. We take this part of the client experience seriously.
About You.
You are an unusually strong conversationalist.
You are warm and personable,
but also focused. You know how to build rapport quickly, notice what matters and guide a conversation without making it feel scripted.
You can think on your feet. When a conversation takes an unexpected turn, you listen, respond and pivot.
You understand the difference between pressure and thoughtful guidance. You are comfortable helping someone move through uncertainty and make a decision when the fit is right.
You are also
- Emotionally intelligent, grounded and perceptive
- Confident speaking with people who may feel anxious, overwhelmed or unsure
- Able to balance warmth with healthy boundaries
- Comfortable discussing fees, policies and booking requirements directly
- Organized and highly reliable with follow-up and documentation
- Able to learn the strengths and areas of focus of a large therapist team
- Open to coaching, feedback and ongoing learning
- Technically comfortable learning our phone, scheduling and practice-management systems
- You do not need to be a practising therapist. However, you must have a meaningful understanding of mental health and psychotherapy through your education or professional experience
- Experience in mental health or healthcare intake, treatment coordination, private healthcare, consultative sales, recruitment, interviewing, client onboarding or relationship management may be particularly relevant
- Sales experience is welcomed if your approach is thoughtful,
relational and grounded in listening rather than pressure
