Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced cook with strong knowledge of traditional Mexican cuisine and authentic Mexican cooking techniques to join us as we prepare for opening and become an important part of our kitchen team.

We are especially interested in someone with hands-on experience preparing Mexican food from scratch who understands the flavours, ingredients, seasonings, and techniques behind traditional recipes.

What we're looking for

- Robust knowledge of traditional Mexican cooking
- Hands-on experience preparing dishes such as birria, carne asada, pollo, tacos, quesadillas, salsas, and consommé
- Ability to prepare traditional Mexican salsas, marinades, and seasonings from scratch
- Good knowledge of dried Mexican chiles, spices, and traditional ingredients
- Experience preparing fresh corn masa and handmade tortillas
- Ability to maintain consistent recipes, portions, and quality
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
- Good food-safety and sanitation practices
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients, assist in ordering supplies, and minimize waste through proper food handling practices
- Ensure all food is cooked safely, adhering to health codes and sanitation standards
- Willingness to share culinary knowledge and help us refine and standardize our recipes




- Able to communicate effectively in English; Spanish is an asset
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

The Role This is more than simply assembling tacos. We are looking for someone who really knows Mexican food and understands how to build authentic, memorable flavours from scratch.

You will work with our team to prepare meats, marinades, salsas, consommés, tortillas, and other ingredients while helping us establish consistent recipes and preparation methods as Dippin’ Tacos gets ready to open.

We value real cooking experience, whether it was developed professionally in restaurants or through many years of traditional home-style cooking. Formal culinary education is not required if you have the knowledge, experience, and passion for preparing real Mexican food with a twist.

We are building Dippin’ Tacos around great food and would love to find someone who takes pride in traditional Mexican cooking and wants to bring that knowledge into our kitchen.
