Job Summary

Six08 Family medical is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to support one neurologist. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced specialty practice and is committed to delivering excellent patient care. A three-month probationary period is required.

Schedule

- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 1-hour unpaid lunch (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
- Closed on statutory holidays

Key Responsibilities: Front Desk & Patient Care

- Greet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer and manage multi-line phone systems
- Schedule office visits, telehealth appointments, and follow-ups
- Perform patient check-in/check-out and intake

Procedure & Referral Coordination

- Book and coordinate neurological procedures (lumbar punctures, emg’s etc.)
- Provide patients with preparation instructions and appointment details
- Manage incoming referrals and communicate with referring physician offices
- Coordinate with hospitals and neurology units as needed

Medical Administration

- Maintain accurate patient records in EMR (Med Access)
- Scan, file, and review documentation for accuracy




- Ensure compliance with privacy and health information standards

Billing & Office Support

- Confirm the validity of AHC insurance
- Maintain office supplies and assist with inventory tracking
- Support clinic workflow and collaborate with healthcare staff

Qualifications

Required:

- Prior experience is not required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Med Access)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills

Assets:

- Experience in a specialty clinic
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Med Access, Netcare, or Epic Systems (Connect Care)
- Reference letter from former employer physicians
- Bilingual skills

Education

- Secondary school diploma required
- MOA certification preferred

Compensation & Benefits

- Starting at $22.00 to $24.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Extended health benefits after 3 months
- Vacation: 10 days per year (accrued monthly)
