Become a Heavy Equipment Technician with the City of Red Deer, Alberta, in this permanent, full-time position.
Your role will involve maintaining city machinery and ensuring operational safety. As part of a robust municipal government team, you will diagnose and repair various equipment and heavy vehicles. Your work will include preventative maintenance, conducting inspections, and providing guidance to apprentices in a team-oriented environment. Each task will play an important part in supporting public safety and city operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical systems in vehicles
- Maintain and repair heavy equipment and transit buses
- Perform safety inspections and document tasks
- Respond to field service calls and minor repairs
- Liaise with suppliers for technical assistance Requirements:
- Grade 11 and an Alberta Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License required
- Experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair manuals
