MUSIC THERAPIST (MTA or MTI)

I am seeking an experienced Music Therapist (MTA) to take over approximately 12 hours per week of established music therapy contracts, with the potential for a long-term arrangement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist looking for consistent, established clinical work withouthaving to build a caseload from scratch.

Because the caseload involves travel between multiple community-based sites, applicants must have their own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence. Instruments will be provided for clients, therapist must have own primary instrument.

Clinical Settings The current contracts include:

Long-Term Care

Group homes supporting adults with Autism and developmental disabilities

In-home individual music therapy with clients with Autism and other developmental delays The work includes both individual and group music therapy sessions across multiple locations.

Hours & Compensation

Approximately 12 clinical hours per week, plus travel

Estimated contract value of approximately $750–$1,000 per week, depending on scheduling, traveland mileage arrangements

Mileage compensation can be negotiated

Paid training and orientation

Established clients, programs and contracts

Qualifications

Required

MTA – Music Therapist Accredited

Current membership with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT)

Must carry your own skilled liability insurance

Must have your own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence

Ability and willingness to travel between sites throughout the Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville,

Caledonia and York/Sims Lock areas





Comfortable working independently in community-based settings

Experience supporting individuals with diverse communication, cognitive and developmental needs

Professional, dependable and able to maintain established relationships with clients, families, staff and facilities An asset:

Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or qualifying/eligible for registration with CRPO

Experience in long-term care, dementia care, Autism and developmental disabilities

Experience facilitating both individual and group music therapy

Availability The position is available immediately.

I am specifically looking for someone interested in long-term continuity, rather than short-term or occasional coverage.

A detailed orientation and paid training period will be provided to support a smooth transition with clients, families, staff and facilities.

Internship Opportunities

Music therapy internship opportunities are also available for suitable students seeking supervised clinical experience in these populations and settings.
