Avalon Health is building a different kind of healthcare clinic in Greater Victoria, and we’re looking for a physiotherapist with an interest and background in neurological rehabilitation to help us build something exceptional.

We are a new, physician-led interdisciplinary clinic bringing family physicians, nurse practitioners, medical specialists and allied health professionals together under one roof.

As we build our rehabilitation services, neurorehabilitation will be an important area of focus. We’re looking for a physiotherapist who is excited not only about working with neurological populations, but also about helping shape how these services grow at Avalon.

The Opportunity

At Avalon, we want you to be able to come to work and be a physiotherapist.

Our team takes care of the administrative demands of running a practice so you can focus your time and energy on your patients.

You’ll have the independence to manage your clinical practice while working within a larger interdisciplinary team, with opportunities for collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, other allied health professionals and medical specialists.

You’ll also have the opportunity to help us develop our neurological rehabilitation services from the ground up.

What Your Practice Could Look Like

Your caseload may include individuals living with or recovering from:

- Stroke
- Traumatic and acquired brain injury
- Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders
- Multiple sclerosis
- Spinal cord injury
- Neurological conditions affecting balance, gait, mobility and function
- Complex deconditioning following hospitalization or ICU admission
- Other neurological and complex rehabilitation needs





We also know that the needs of our patients and community will continue to evolve.

We’re interested in clinicians who see possibilities. If there is an area of neurological rehabilitation you are passionate about, a program you have always wanted to develop, or a gap in care you believe could be addressed differently, we want to hear about it.

As Avalon grows, there will also be opportunities to develop interdisciplinary rehabilitation programs, group-based services and patient education.

Compensation

Compensation will be discussed with selected candidates and will be competitive with current private-practice physiotherapy compensation in Greater Victoria.

We offer flexible practice arrangements and are interested in finding a structure that reflects your experience, clinical interests,



schedule and the role you would like to build at Avalon.

Eligible practitioners working 20 or more hours per week will also have access to extended health benefits.

Who We’re Looking For

You are a physiotherapist licensed, or eligible to be licensed, to practise in British Columbia through the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.

Ideally, you have experience working with neurological or complex rehabilitation populations.

However, we’re also interested in meeting physiotherapists with a strong clinical interest in neurological rehabilitation who want to continue developing in this area.

You are comfortable working with complex patients, value evidence-informed practice and understand that meaningful rehabilitation is often about more than a single diagnosis.

You also enjoy working collaboratively. You want the independence to practise physiotherapy your way, while having physicians and other healthcare professionals nearby when a patient would benefit from a broader team.

Most importantly, you care about excellent rehabilitation, good people and helping patients regain function, independence and confidence in their lives.
