Job Summary
Responsible for providing professional guest service during the overnight shift while managing front-desk operations, completing the nightly audit, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests and property.
Key Job Duties
- Welcome guests, check guests in and out, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Answer telephone calls, respond to guest questions, and provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Process reservations, cancellations, room changes, payments, and refunds accurately.
- Verify guest identification and payment information while following hotel policies.
- Complete the overnight night audit, including balancing daily room revenue, payments, taxes, and other hotel transactions.
- Review and reconcile front-desk transactions and correct discrepancies when necessary.
- Prepare and distribute daily reports for management.
- Process credit card, cash, and other payment transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor arrivals, departures, occupied rooms, and room availability.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally and attempt to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-desk area.
- Conduct regular property checks during the overnight shift and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Protect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality of guest and hotel information.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and standards for customer service and safety.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer and cash-handling skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and financial transactions.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work overnight shifts.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Previous hotel or front-desk experience is an asset.
- Experience with hotel reservation systems is an asset.
Typical Night Shift Responsibilities The Night Auditor is generally responsible for keeping the front desk operational throughout the night, assisting late-arriving and early-departing guests, monitoring the property, completing the daily financial audit, preparing reports, and ensuring that the hotel is ready for the morning shift. Pay: $18.25-$20.00 per hour
