Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910

: Reporting to his/her designate, Primary Health Care Teams and in collaboration with physicians and health care provider team members, the RN (Nurse Practitioner) will provide Primary Health Care (PHC) services to assigned populations which may include: urban populations, visiting services to rural communities, and/or priority populations (e.g. newcomers, teens, residents in long term care facilities) as determined by community and program needs. As the PHC Team evolves, and based on needs of the population, the position may be required to provide current practices such as nurse-led extended hour clinic services and/or first on-call support.

Primary Health Care services include: health assessment, health promotion and education, disease and injury prevention and assessment, treatment interventions; collaboration with, and referral to, other health care providers; participation in quality improvement, patient safety, community development, clinical practice redesign, and evaluation.

- Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)

Licenses

- Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Knowledge and Abilities

- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
- Knowledge in community development
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
- Working knowledge in health promotion
- Ability to make decisions, which must include coordination of staffing
- Ability to make decisions on patient care and coordination of equipment
- Advance computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Access).

- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- This position supports Redvers, Carnduff and Gainsborough communities
