OHS & Training Manager
Location: Edmonton, AB

Build a Culture of Safety, Learning & Excellence
McMan is seeking an experienced and passionate OHS & Training Manager to lead our occupational health and safety and employee training programs.
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining health and safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading training initiatives, and supporting a culture of workplace safety, wellness, and continuous learning across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Occupational Health & Safety
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct inspections, hazard assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- Develop corrective and preventative actions to reduce workplace risks.
- Monitor safety performance and maintain accurate records and reporting.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and support health and safety committees.
Training & Development
- Assess organizational training needs and develop training plans.
- Coordinate and facilitate orientation, safety, and operational training programs.
- Track employee certifications, mandatory training, and competency requirements.
- Maintain training records and support the use of learning management systems.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Leadership & Advisory Support
- Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on health and safety best practices.
- Support employee wellness, injury prevention, and return-to-work initiatives.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and external training providers.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, Business Administration,
or a related field.
- Minimum five years of progressive Human Resources experience.
· Two to five years of supervisory or leadership experience. · An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Experience developing and implementing safety programs and delivering employee training.
- Professional designation such as CRSP, NCSO, CSP, or CHSC is considered an asset.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is considered an asset.
