The Video Apps team at Apple is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a background in video/photo editing to contribute to the development of innovative tools for creative professionals, video makers, and visual storytellers.

This role requires a highly proactive individual with strong creative, technical, and analytic skills and a passion for new technologies related to computer vision and on-device machine learning.

Responsibilities

- Plan, design, write, maintain, and execute end-to-end test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python
- Drive all aspects of quality and process improvements to help the team ensure features are ready for release
- Report bugs with outstanding isolation and regression techniques
- Balance a wide variety of deliverables, managing priorities and communicating progress and risks effectively
- Translate user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements into effective test plans and cases
- Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate test script development and reduce manual effort
- Work closely with other team members to help coordinate multi-functional test efforts

Minimum Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in QA/QE
- Minimum of 1+ years experience as a Software Engineer in Test




- Programming in Python and/or Swift to prototype features, create test apps, and test with internal tools
- Proficiency in testing mobile/desktop apps, and backend/APIs
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, SQA testing methodologies, terminology and processes
- Proven bug detection, isolation, and regression skills
- Able to extract user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements, translating them into effective test plans and cases
- Strong familiarity with iOS and macOS
- BS in Computer Science, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience

- Experience in digital photography and video, with proficiency in editing tools for both media
- Meticulous, analytical, methodical and creative problem solver committed to driving quality forward
