Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Optical Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring accurate dispensing of optical products. Duties

- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on prescriptions and personal preferences
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting and frame adjustments
- Explain lens options, features, and benefits to customers to support informed purchasing decisions
- Verify prescriptions and ensure accuracy of optical orders using Epic or similar electronic health record systems
- Conduct basic eye exams or vision tests as needed, following established protocols
- Maintain an organized display of eyewear and accessories in the retail space




- Manage inventory levels and place orders for supplies as necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, concerns, and ensuring patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with optometrists or ophthalmologists to ensure proper dispensing procedures are followed

Experience

- Prior experience in optical dispensing, laboratory work, or retail sales is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health is a plus
- Experience working with Epic or other electronic health record systems is beneficial
- Background in optical experience or retail management can enhance performance in this role
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential for success in this position
