Duties

- Assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their style, needs, and prescription requirements, ensuring optimal comfort and vision correction
- Measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses accurately using specialized tools and techniques
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, lens coatings, and proper eyewear maintenance to enhance their experience
- Process prescriptions using optical software systems such as Epic, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical terminology standards
- Conduct laboratory tasks including lens edging, mounting, and adjustments to ensure high-quality finished products




- Support retail sales efforts by promoting eyewear collections and accessories while delivering excellent customer service
- Maintain detailed records of patient prescriptions, sales transactions, and inventory management for seamless operations

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to vision care and eyewear prescriptions
- Laboratory experience with lens cutting, edging, or mounting is highly desirable
- Previous optical experience or retail sales background preferred; a passion for helping customers find the right solution is essential
- Familiarity with retail management principles to support store operations effectively
- Experience working with electronic health record systems such as Epic or similar platforms is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical information clearly and build rapport with diverse patients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
