Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our eye care team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, support the optometry team with clinical and administrative duties, and ensure smooth daily operations within our busy optical practice. Prior experience in medical offices, and a passion for helping patients are highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Greet patients warmly and assist them through their visit from check-in to check-out

- Collect patient histories and update medical records accurately
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurements

- Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and handling patient inquiries
- Assist with retail sales of eyewear , promoting appropriate products based on patient needs




- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and optical displays
- Support administrative tasks such as billing, coding, and insurance documentation

Qualifications

- Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred, especially in optometry or ophthalmology

- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care services
- Excellent patient care skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Experience with front desk operations including scheduling and customer service
- Optical experience or retail sales background is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities

- Solid communication skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role

Pay: $17.00-$19.50 per hour
