Responsibilities

- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

- Ensure preparation of ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)

- Lead, train, & direct support staff in their daily duties, assign tasks to trainees and ensure they understand how to complete each task. Make accommodations as needed by the trainee

- Cook according to predetermined recipes and menu

- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes and cleaning any mess before they are served

- Pick up food and supplies from storage and bring to job site

- Check quality of ingredients and complete quality assurance checklists

- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages as needed

- Maintain food truck to health code standards

- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, trainees, and customers

- Follow dress code standards

- Deliver dinner meals every Saturday

- Drop off laundry once a week

- Complete any tasks assigned by the Lead Cook Supervisor

- Complete staff trainings as assigned

Necessary Qualifications

- Proven experience as cook

- Experience in using cutting tools and cookware





- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)

- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures

- Ability to work in a team, train others, and lead while giving clear direction

- Very good communication skills

- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage

- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

- Good time management skills, accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

- Familiar with industry’s best practices

- Ability to work in a confined setting

- Ability to improvise meals when necessary

- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs

- Ability to stand and be on your feet for long periods of time

- Ability to multitask

- Valid Driver’s License and clean dribing record

Schedule

- 6 shifts per week with each shift being 3-4 hours long. Estimated total hours per week are 18-24 hours.

- Must be available from 8:30am-12:30pm Monday-Friday and 3:30pm-7pm pn Saturdays

Additional Information

Part Time, Non-exempt

Hourly Pay: $18.50
