An X-ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray equipment.They ensure high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety, following radiation protection standards, and assisting physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform X-ray procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients correctly for imaging.
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment.
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed (ALARA principle).
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures to reduce anxiety.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare staff.
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond to emergencies if needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of imaging rooms.
