The County Drugstore is looking for a friendly, reliable, and organized individual to join our pharmacy team in a Pharmacy Assistant / Clerk / Cashier role.

This is a non-regulated position with a strong focus on customer service, front-store and prescription cashier duties, prescription workflow support, inventory management, clerical tasks, and general upkeep of the pharmacy.

Previous pharmacy experience is an asset. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, good attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Cashier

- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
- Operate the cash register and process cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Assist customers with general questions and direct medication or clinical questions to the pharmacist.
- Answer telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
- Assist customers with locating front-store products.

Prescription Workflow Support
- Receive prescription drop-offs and refill requests and direct them through the pharmacy workflow.
- Retrieve completed prescriptions for customers at pickup.
- Assist with prescription filing, organization, and retrieval.
- Enter basic patient or prescription information into the pharmacy computer system as trained and permitted.
- Contact patients regarding completed prescriptions, outstanding pickups, or other routine matters as directed.
- Assist with organizing prescriptions waiting for pickup.
- Help manage prescription delivery, refill, and pickup requests.
- Refer all medication, therapeutic, counselling, and clinical questions to the pharmacist.

Inventory & Stock Management
- Receive and unpack pharmacy and front-store orders.
- Check incoming stock against invoices and packing slips.




- Stock shelves and prescription inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and replenishment.
- Rotate stock and check expiry dates.
- Identify short-dated, expired, damaged, or recalled products and bring them to the attention of pharmacy staff.
- Maintain organized shelves, storage areas, and dispensary inventory.
- Assist with inventory counts and periodic stocktaking.

Clerical & Administrative Duties
- Perform filing, scanning, photocopying, and other general office duties.
- Maintain organized patient, prescription, and pharmacy records as required.
- Assist with processing paperwork, invoices, orders, and routine documentation.
- Prepare prescription delivery paperwork and organize deliveries where applicable.
- Assist with basic data entry.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and pharmacy information at all times.

Cleaning & General Upkeep
- Perform routine cleaning duties to help maintain a clean, safe, and professional pharmacy setting.
- Vacuum and mop floors as required.
- Clean counters, work surfaces, shelves, and customer areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling.
- Clean staff and public areas as assigned.
- Wipe down frequently touched surfaces and maintain general tidiness throughout the pharmacy.
- Assist with other light cleaning and housekeeping duties as needed.

General Pharmacy Support
- Keep work areas, counters, shelves, and customer areas clean and organized.
- Assist pharmacists, pharmacy technicians,



and other pharmacy staff with non-regulated duties as required.
- Follow pharmacy policies, procedures, privacy requirements, and workplace safety practices.
- Perform other reasonable duties required to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- No pharmacy certification or registration required.
- Previous retail, customer service, cashier, office, or pharmacy experience is an asset.
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
- Comfortable handling confidential information.
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform routine lifting, stocking, and light cleaning duties.

Important Note This is a non-regulated pharmacy support position and is not a Registered Pharmacy Technician position. The employee will work under the direction of pharmacists and regulated pharmacy staff and will not perform duties requiring professional judgment or duties restricted to regulated pharmacy professionals.

Pay: $17.60-$19.00 per hour
