We are currently seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for a short-term maternity leave coverage placement serving public school students in Belleville, NJ.

Position Overview & Schedule

- Assignment Dates: September 8, 2026 – December 22, 2026

- Schedule: Part-time, 2 to 3 days per week

- Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

- Role Focus: Provide school-based physical therapy services to help students safely navigate their school environments and access their educational programs.

Responsibilities

- Deliver direct and consultative physical therapy services aligned with student IEP goals, focusing on gross motor development, mobility, balance, and positioning

- Conduct physical therapy evaluations,



baseline assessments, and triennial re-evaluations as needed

- Participate in Child Study Team (CST) meetings, Annual Reviews, and eligibility determinations

- Collaborate with special education teachers, classroom staff, OTs, SLPs, and parents on adaptive equipment, room setup, and accessibility strategies

- Maintain clear, compliant service logs and progress documentation in accordance with district and New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) guidelines

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy).

- Licensure: Active Current Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners license.

- School Certification: NJDOE School Physical Therapist endorsement (or eligibility).

- Clearances: Ability to pass standard Recent Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) criminal history background check (CHRU fingerprinting).

- Experience: Previous pediatric or school-based PT experience preferred.
