Platform Engineer

Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC (Onsite, Relocation Assistance Available)

Salary: $120,000 - $145,000 CAD + Benefits

Our client is a rapidly growing company developing AI-powered automation solutions that combine advanced software, machine learning, and robotics to solve complex industrial challenges.

We're seeking a Platform Engineer to help build and maintain the Linux based software platform that powers advanced robotic systems.

This role focuses on Linux infrastructure, system provisioning, deployment automation, and hardware integration. You'll work closely with robotics, software, and hardware teams to ensure systems can be reliably configured, deployed, updated, and supported in customer environments.

Responsibilities

- Develop embedded systems software in C++ and Python
- Build and maintain Ubuntu-based Linux systems used across robotic platforms
- Develop automated provisioning, imaging, and configuration workflows for deployed systems
- Create tools and processes to manage software installation, updates, and lifecycle management
- Support containerized applications using Docker
- Collaborate with teams on system integration,



hardware bring-up, and deployment activities
- Troubleshoot Linux, networking, hardware, and deployment-related issues

Qualifications

- 3-6 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering, Embedded Software Engineering, or a related field
- Solid experience administering Ubuntu or other Linux distributions
- Experience with Linux provisioning and automation technologies such as cloud-init, Ubuntu Autoinstall, system imaging, or similar tools
- Proficiency in C++ and Python for embedded systems development
- Experience troubleshooting Linux systems, networking, and hardware-related issues
- Experience with hardware integration, hardware bring-up, or deployment of software onto physical devices
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with embedded Linux environments
- Experience with Yocto, BSP development, device provisioning, or system imaging
- Experience supporting robotics, autonomous systems, industrial automation, or edge computing products
