Shift Wednesday to Friday 6:30 am to 6:30 pm

GENERAL

The press operator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the printing press. The press operator is expected to produce quality print and follow all safety procedures, understand all safety equipment and adhere to all company policies.



The press operator reports directly to the Press Department Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Always operate and maintain multi-color press machines efficiently and safely.
- Follow electronic schedules and docket information to ensure accurate production.
- Troubleshoot printing issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Produce high-quality, multi-color prints on various substrates.
- Work effectively with the Press Assistant (when required) to ensure clear direction is given to ensure correct and smooth operations.
- Perform daily and bi-weekly maintenance of the printing press.
- Ensure the press and press area are properly cleaned by the end of each shift.
- Adhere to all department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
- Expectations are to arrive at work on time for all scheduled shifts.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Press Department Manager.

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of organization are required.
- A basic mechanical aptitude is an asset.
- A positive and respectable work ethic and solid attendance record is required.
- Physical ability to lift to 25lbs.
- Ability to work well with others.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

- High School Diploma or Level 12 G.E.D.
- 1 to 2 years Press Operator experience required.
- Knowledge of measuring systems is an asset.
