Primary Homeroom Teacher LTO
RHMS is seeking an Ontario Certified Teacher with Primary qualifications to fill a Homeroom Teacher position for the 2026 – 2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Teach students our enriched Math, Language, Art, Health and Social Studies which pulls curriculum expectations from the Ontario curriculum.
- Collaborate with the primary team to meet the needs of the students.
- Create innovative, student-centered and engaging unit plans in a way that deepens student knowledge and understanding and motivates them to be more self-directed.
- Use various age-appropriate technology applications to engage students and supplement the curriculum in a meaningful way.
- Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to determine if lesson objectives were met, and to assess student’s skill development and understanding.
- Maintain a positive learning workplace using age-appropriate and effective classroom management techniques.
- Organize the classroom and learning resources and keep theme-based display boards up-to-date.
- Maintain open, positive and consistent communication with students’ parents by providing feedback and keeping them up-to-date on student progress.
- Provide a high level of customer service to students’ parents when answering questions, holding parent-teacher interviews, etc.
- Organize and take part in school events, excursions and school-wide initiatives that may take place after school hours.
- Keep up-to-date on innovative teaching methods and developments in the education field through seminars, additional qualifications, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Honours preferred.
- B. Ed with primary qualifications.
- Ontario Teaching Certification (OCT) in good standing.
- 2-3 years of full-time classroom teaching experience.
- Experience in a private school is preferred.

- Works with a high standard of integrity.
- Excellent oral, written, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Highly proficient in navigating Windows and Apple operating systems and SMARTBoards. Skilled in Google Suites and Schoology an asset.
Additional Information:
- Shift: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Hourly Wage: $54.00 per hour
