Shape GitHub's web UI platform as a Principal Software Engineer from the comfort of your home in Canada. Lead cross-team initiatives while focusing on performance and accessibility. In this role within GitHub's Core UX organization, you will wield influence across the frontend platform.
With a focus on balancing architecture with hands-on execution, your work will evolve a large codebase while ensuring accessibility and consistency. - Own technical direction for GitHub’s web UI platform
- Drive large-scale cross-team initiatives and migrations
- Establish standards for frontend development and patterns
- Produce architecture proposals and evaluate trade-offs
- Mentor engineers through design and code reviews
Requirements:
- 9+ years in Software Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in production software coding
- Deep knowledge of React or Angular internals
- Experience in improving web performance systematically
- Solid understanding of web and accessibility fundamentals
