In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of electrical systems for a wide variety of building projects across GTA. You will work closely with engineers, technologists, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while supporting the continued growth of CIMA+’s local presence in the region.This role offers a balance of technical design, project coordination, and field engagement, including site visits and construction support for projects throughout GTA.You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes versatile work hours, working from home and in our Bowmanville or Mississauga offices.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical systems for buildings including lighting, power distribution,
communications, security, and fire alarm systemsPrepare electrical designs, drawings, and models using Microstation and AutoCADPerform electrical design calculations and assist with equipment selection and system layoutsCoordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplinesConduct site visits and field investigations to review existing conditions and support construction activitiesParticipate in project meetings and collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teamsSupport proposal preparation and contribute to project planning activitiesContinued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunitiesAssist in mentoring junior staff and contributing to the development of the local engineering teamDirectly engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong business relationshipsQualificationsOver 10 years' experience in electrical engineering in the buildings sector, specifically in the design of power distribution; on-site standby &emergency power generation; lighting (indoor and outdoor / site)
and building services & life safety systemsDemonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to noneWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and Microstation is requiredKnowledge of the Ontario Building CodeValid Canadian drivers licence with access to transportation for site reviews and inspectionsExperience mentoring junior technical staff is an assetAdditional InformationWhy choose CIMA+?
