Job summary The Production Manager at Woodtone is responsible for effective resource utilization and the execution and quality of products to build plans, schedules and standards. Working closely with their direct supervisors and our safety and continuous improvement teams, this position oversees production, labour needs and utilization,



quality control, efficiency, inventory controls and machine capacity planning. With a staff of 25-40 people, Woodtone Production Managers are process driven and highly effective people leaders, exemplifying the company values through their actions and decisions and in turn mentoring desired behaviours & actions with their people.

Key Responsibilities

Safety, Quality, Responsiveness

- Ensure workplace and our people are adhering to safe work practices that align with the Company safety initiatives and policies.
- Actively and visibly demonstrate your support and participation in Company safety policies.
- Responsible for successful execution in meeting quality standards, customer ship dates and build plans for MTO and MTS.
- Develop clear and visible production plans/schedules from master scheduling in conjunction with those in planning, inventory, logistics and sales.
- Assign well-defined responsibilities and authorities and promotes coordination and cooperation through transparent lines of communication.
- Manage capacity & utilization planning with machines, methods, and people.
- Ensure inventory and yard footprint pertaining to your products and plant is maintained and organized.
- Ensure all “operator based” machine and facility maintenance is proactive, visible, communicated and carried out within operating budgets and schedules.
- Work with others on the Woodtone team to ensure Customer needs and requests are met.
- Manage customer feedback proactively into improving production and quality standards.
- Carry out R&D;, product testing and trial runs as business requires.

Continuous Improvement (CI) & Cost Management

- Promote,



encourage and drive Continuous Improvement efforts with productivity, quality and efficiency of operations. This includes manufacturing processes and supporting business process, while challenging the status quo and driving labour productivity gains.
- Manage direct labor and machine/line utilization and overtime to optimize efficiencies and control costs.
- Develop and maintain a sound plan of organization to meet the operating needs of the Company and to ensure inventory controls and transactions are being followed.
- Ensure availability of resources, tools and supplies for team and facility.
- Responsible for ensuring Workplace Organization (6S) standards are developed and sustained.

People & Leadership

- Motivate supervisors and indirect staff through proactive training & development.
- Conduct regular performance meetings and one-on-ones, setting goals for the team.
- Establish standards of performance and provide opportunities for cross-training programs for all positions.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and onboarding of staff, ensuring Woodtone is hiring people with the ideal values that match the organization.
- Develops and maintains lines of communication and working relationships with all upstream and downstream customers in the achievement of overall objectives and goals of the Company.
- Manage and work with Operations Manager and/or HR on difficult behavior and conflict resolutions as required.
- Conduct regular meetings with staff.

Qualifications/ Experience

- 3+ years experience working in a manufacturing or high-volume production environment
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Proven success in effective problem solving, solution implementation and sustainment and taking a team approach
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and strong relationships with people
- Commitment and support to ongoing skill development through participation in training and educational opportunities
- Consistently punctual, dependable, and professional

Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
