Raise is currently hiring a Contract Production Supply & Logistics Analyst on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major energy and midstream organization and support crude oil and diluent supply, forecasting, pipeline logistics, volumetric accounting, and customer service operations. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description The Production Supply & Logistics Analyst is a customer service and operations-focused role responsible for supporting the volumetric supply, forecasting, and movement of crude oil and diluent through pipeline gathering systems and terminals.
The successful candidate will help plan and coordinate contractual fluid movements while supporting the execution of physical movements to ensure the right volumes are accounted for at the right location and time.
This position also serves as a key liaison between shippers, pipeline-connected facility operators, Midstream field personnel, and internal business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, advanced Excel skills, excellent communication, and experience within crude oil, pipeline, logistics, or a related energy environment.
Responsibilities
- Model and track physical fluid movements through gathering systems and terminals.
- Manage contractual transactions to meet customer requirements and available supply.
- Monitor and report shipper positions across pipelines and terminals to ensure contractual requirements and balances are met.
- Generate month-end volumetric accounting reports for shippers and products.
- Support quarterly volumetric reforecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning activities.
- Manage volumetric forecasts and resolve nomination issues through effective written and verbal customer communication.
- Coordinate daily nominations and other periodic forecasting and nomination requirements.
- Perform forecasting and reconciliation activities to maintain balanced pipeline systems.
- Serve as a liaison between shippers, pipeline-connected facility operators, Midstream field operations, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate throughput requirements and manage shipper and connected-facility nominations.
- Identify and address operational issues that may impact pipeline and terminal systems.
- Develop analytics, contingency plans, and operational strategies to support effective decision-making.
- Respond quickly and effectively to pipeline sensitivities and operational issues involving pipelines, connected carriers, and trunklines.
- Develop, operate, manage, and maintain the integrity of business applications and analytical workbooks.
- Complete reporting and audit activities related to industry and internal control requirements.
- Support regulatory and industry reporting, including Petroleum Registry and related reporting requirements.
- Develop expertise in integrated pipeline business systems and provide administrative and business testing support.
- Support system capacity management, including restriction, curtailment, and apportionment activities.
- Participate in business system testing, process improvements, and special projects as required.
- Collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to resolve operational and customer service issues.
- Maintain compliance with corporate, Midstream, regulatory, and industry governance requirements.
- Provide occasional weekend or after-hours support in exceptional, issue-driven, or deadline-sensitive situations.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or certificate in Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
- 2–4 years of crude oil or related energy industry experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions collaboratively.
- Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.

- Understanding of pipeline capacity, restrictions, curtailments, or apportionment.
- Knowledge of volumetric accounting, reconciliation, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of industry reporting requirements and procedures.
- Experience with Petroleum Registry, COLC, Petrinex, or similar industry systems.
- Experience supporting or testing pipeline management or integrated pipeline systems.
- Experience developing and maintaining complex Excel workbooks and operational reporting tools.
Work Schedule This is a part time position based in Calgary, Alberta, with a bi-weekly work schedule:
- Week One: Thursday and Friday – 8 hours per day (16 hours/week)
- Week Two: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday – 8 hours per day (24 hours/week)
The initial training period may require additional workdays or hours, which will be determined upon hire. Occasional weekend or after-hours availability may also be required in exceptional circumstances based on operational issues or critical deadlines.
