Jul Truss & Floor is looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join our growing production team.
This is a hands-on position with the opportunity to learn multiple areas of our operation,
including truss manufacturing, wall panel production, Engineered Wood Product (EWP) cutting and packaging, shipping/receiving, inventory, equipment operation, and material handling.
We are looking for people who want more than just a production job. For the right individual, this is a valuable opportunity to learn the industry, develop new skills, take on additional responsibilities,
and grow within the company.
Responsibilities
Duties will vary depending on experience, training, and the needs of production and may include:
Truss & Wall Production
● Read and interpret truss drawings, wall layouts, cut sheets, and production documentation.
● Cut and organize components for truss and wall parts.
● Operate saws, jigs, presses, forklifts and other production machinery.
● Assemble prefabricated wall and wood framing components.
● Inspect completed components for accuracy and quality.
● Stack and organize finished trusses and wall bundles.
● Maintain an efficient production flow while meeting quality and safety requirements.
EWP Cutting & Packaging
● Read EWP layouts, cut sheets, and material lists.
● Identify and select the correct engineered wood products for each order.
● Measure and cut EWP components accurately.
● Label, organize and package material by job.
● Verify quantities and materials before orders leave the facility.
● Maintain organized EWP inventory and storage areas.
Yard & Material Handling
● Load, unload, organize, and stage lumber and building materials.
● Receive incoming material and verify quantities.
● Perform inventory counts and assist with stock control.
● Pick and stage material for production and customer orders.
● Prepare completed orders for shipping.
● Safely stack and store lumber, EWP, trusses, wall panels, and other materials.
● Maintain an organized upper and lower yard.
● Assist customers, delivery drivers, and production staff with material loading as required.
Experience
Preferred: 1–3 years of experience in any of the following:
● Wood framing
● Residential or commercial construction
● Truss or wall-panel manufacturing
● Prefabricated construction
● Lumber/building material handling
● Manufacturing or production
Previous experience is an asset, but we are also interested in motivated candidates who are mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and interested in developing a career in the industry.
Skills & Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate
● Ability to read and interpret, plans, shop drawings, cut sheets, and technical documentation.
● Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work with construction dimensions.
● Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, saws, nail guns, presses, and manufacturing equipment.
● Strong attention to detail and quality.
● Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, carrying materials, and standing for extended periods.
● Ability to identify and solve problems in a fast-paced production environment.
● Good understanding of workplace safety.
● Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
● Good time management and ability to meet production and shipping deadlines.
● Willingness to learn different jobs and take on additional responsibility.
The following are considered assets:
● Truss manufacturing experience
● Wall-panel manufacturing experience
● Any wood product experience
● Framing or carpentry experience
● Forklift or telehandler experience experience
● First Aid certification
● WHMIS training
● Valid driver's licence

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
