Your Role The Program Supervisor is responsible for leading in-House program development, implementation, and day-to-day program management at the Calgary Ronald McDonald House. This role supports meaningful, family-centred programming by coordinating supplies, employees, volunteers, and contractors to ensure programs and special events are delivered with care, consistency, and strong service standards.

This is a full-time position based out of the Calgary Ronald McDonald House. The schedule may include weekday and weekend shifts during daytime and evening hours. Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.

By leading the Program Coordinator team and working closely with employees, volunteers, and community partners, the Program Supervisor helps bring the mission of Ronald McDonald House Alberta to life each day—creating a compassionate, inclusive, and supportive environment where families can focus on what matters most: being close to their child.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of in-House programming that aligns with Ronald McDonald House Alberta’s mission, vision, policies, and service standards.




- Work with the provincial team to set monthly programming schedules and ensure alignment of programs and family experiences across the province.
- Lead employees, volunteers and contractors to effectively deliver programs and family activities, including scheduling, coaching, performance management and recruitment

- Use employee and volunteer resources to respond to the unique needs of families and provide a broad range of activities that offer relaxation, connection, and fun.
- Promote a positive, compassionate, supportive, and engaging House environment that builds community among families, employees, volunteers, and the broader community.
- Collaborate with other departments to support smooth operations and high-quality family programming.
- Maintain program budgets, track expenditures, order supplies, and support grants or donations that are directly designated for programming.
- Contribute to ongoing program improvement by developing program plans, supporting change management, completing evaluations, and bringing forward ideas to enhance the family experience.
- Provide House tours, act as an ambassador of Ronald McDonald House Alberta, participate in assigned committees, and provide cross-functional coverage as required.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in program planning, volunteer planning, coordination, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience is preferred.
- Proven experience managing programs with strong service delivery standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within the House, across the province, and in the broader community.
- High level of professionalism, tact, discretion, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.




- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and use volunteers effectively to enhance programs and services within a non-profit environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and database software, which may include volunteer or donor databases such as VolunteerHub or Raiser’s Edge.
- Standard First Aid CPR-C and AED certification.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must provide a clear Police Information Check.

Nice to Haves
- Post-secondary education related to Child and Youth Work, Recreation Programming, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with families and children.
- Experience supporting or stewarding volunteers in a non-profit or community-based environment.
- Valid Food Safety Certificate.
- Valid WHMIS Certificate.
