ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Winnipeg-based Project Manager/Estimator to join our team and help grow our capacity to deliver exceptional projects. The role begins with an inquiry from Sales, where you will collaborate to develop an estimate based on the desired scope of work, and continues through order entry, execution, and final delivery. You will be the central point of coordination throughout the project lifecycle, working with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Suppliers, Accounting, Installation, and Customers to ensure requirements are understood, information flows, decisions are made, and commitments are followed through.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Estimating & Proposal Development

· Develop accurate estimates using internal quoting tools based on customer requirements, scope, technical drawings, specifications, layouts, and project conditions.

· Develop and review 2D/3D layouts, equipment arrangements, and project concepts with Sales and Engineering to ensure the proposed solution meets customer requirements.

· Coordinate technical and commercial inputs, identify scope gaps, assumptions, risks, and opportunities, and prepare explicit, accurate, commercially sound quotations.

Project Management & Execution

· Manage projects from purchase order through final delivery, ensuring scope, drawings, quality, cost, schedule, and contractual commitments remain aligned.

· Establish and monitor project schedules, milestones, drawing approvals, procurement, production, delivery, installation, and other critical activities.

· Coordinate project information, drawing revisions, changes, technical clarifications, documentation, and handoffs while proactively addressing issues that could impact execution.

Customer & Supplier Coordination

· Serve as the main point of customer contact throughout execution, providing clear communication on progress, requirements, changes, and issues.

· Review customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure equipment remains aligned with the agreed scope.





· Coordinate suppliers on pricing, technical information, lead times, and delivery, while maintaining strong relationships and accountability across all stakeholders.

Commercial & Continuous Improvement

· Monitor project costs against estimates, identifying variances, scope changes, risks, and potential additional costs.

· Support project billing, close-out, reconciliation, and required project documentation.

· Resolve issues affecting cost, schedule, quality, or customer satisfaction, and apply lessons learned to improve estimating and project execution.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a Winnipeg-based, in-office position that works closely with local team members and collaborates virtually with colleagues in Quebec. Occasional travel within North America may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 3–5 years of experience in project management, estimating, or a similar role within an industrial equipment, manufacturing, fabrication, or engineered-to-order environment.

· Post-secondary education in engineering, engineering technology, business, or a related technical field; equivalent experience will be considered.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to create, modify, and interpret equipment layouts, assembly drawings, and project drawings.

· Robust mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand complex equipment, systems, technical drawings, and specifications.

· Strong estimating and analytical skills, including the ability to develop and understand project costs, scope, and margins.

· Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with sound judgment and the ability to identify risks and address issues proactively.

· Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and initiative, with the ability to work independently while effectively coordinating a multidisciplinary team.

· Bilingual (English and French), both written and spoken, is considered an asset.
