Purchaser – Electrical Materials

Clarus Electric Corp. is currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Purchaser – Electrical Materials to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. Based in the Lower Mainland of B.C., we specialize in residential and commercial electrical projects, including new construction, repairs, upgrades, and custom installations.

In this vital role, you will manage procurement activities, oversee inventory levels, and coordinate with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of electrical supplies and materials to our job sites. Your proactive approach will help streamline our supply chain, secure competitive pricing, and support our project teams in delivering exceptional service.

What You'll Do

- Purchase materials, tools, and equipment from electrical suppliers and wholesalers, aligned with project timelines
- Source new suppliers and evaluate existing vendors based on quality, pricing, delivery performance, and compliance with safety standards
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships through effective communication and negotiation to secure competitive pricing and reliable lead times
- Track and manage inventory levels, forecasting needs to prevent shortages or excess stock
- Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed, cost-efficient purchasing decisions
- Receive incoming deliveries, inspect for accuracy and damage, and log into inventory
- Store and organize materials for easy retrieval
- Coordinate and schedule outbound deliveries to individual job sites
- Communicate with Site Foremen and project managers to confirm material needs and delivery timing
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and inventory counts




- Identify and resolve discrepancies in orders, shipments, or stock counts

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management (electrical/construction industry preferred)
- Knowledge of electrical and construction site materials is needed
- Familiarity with electrical materials, parts, and terminology is an asset
- Experience with Procore is an asset
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP) is an asset
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable using inventory/purchasing software (or willingness to learn)
- Excellent communication skills, coordinating between suppliers and site teams
- Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude
