About the Role

Phoenix Glass is looking for a Quality & Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team in Delta, BC.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys not only identifying quality issues, but understanding why they happen and how processes can be improved to prevent them.

The successful candidate will take ownership of our day-to-day quality control program, help modernize and digitize our quality systems, oversee our preventive maintenance program, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the company.

Phoenix Glass manufactures aluminum curtain wall, window and door assemblies. You will work closely with Production, Production Engineering, Drafting, Purchasing, Project Management, Field Operations, Maintenance and senior management.

What You’ll Do

Quality & QC Systems

- Take ownership of day-to-day shop & site QC activities.
- Review, update and maintain the Phoenix Glass QC Manual.
- Develop and improve QC procedures, inspection forms, checklists, work instructions and records.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated curtain wall, window, door and related assemblies.
- Review drawings, specifications and project requirements to establish appropriate inspection and acceptance criteria.
- Identify deficiencies and work with the appropriate teams on corrective actions.
- Track recurring quality issues, rework and trends.
- Lead or support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

Project Quality & ITPs

- Review project-specific quality requirements.
- Develop project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and supporting QC documentation.
- Coordinate inspection and documentation requirements with Project Management, Production and Field Operations.
- Complete site QC inspections when required by project-specific ITPs.
- Maintain required inspection, deficiency and corrective-action records.

QC Digitization

- Help transition our QC program from paper-based/manual processes to an effective digital system.
- Develop digital inspection forms, records, deficiency tracking and reporting.




- Improve traceability and accessibility of QC information.
- Help evaluate and implement practical software, automation and digital tools.
- Develop useful quality KPIs and reporting.

Preventive Maintenance Program

- Oversee the administration and tracking of Phoenix Glass’s preventive maintenance program.
- Maintain equipment registers, PM schedules, records and maintenance history.
- Coordinate with Production and maintenance personnel to ensure required PM activities are completed and documented.
- Track downtime, recurring equipment issues and maintenance trends.
- Help digitize PM scheduling, records and reporting.
- Work with maintenance personnel to identify equipment-related causes of quality or production issues.

This position oversees the preventive maintenance program but is not responsible for performing equipment repairs or hands-on maintenance.

Continuous Improvement

- Work across the company to identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, consistency and workflow.
- Identify bottlenecks, duplication, recurring problems, unnecessary manual work and opportunities for standardization.
- Help develop improved processes, SOPs and workflows.
- Identify opportunities for digitization and automation.
- Help reduce rework, waste and non-value-added activities.
- Improve information flow and handoffs between departments.
- Establish measurements and KPIs to evaluate improvements.
- Work collaboratively with department managers to implement practical changes.

What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement or a related role.




- Strong practical understanding of manufacturing or fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and tolerances.
- Experience with inspections, quality documentation, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Experience developing or improving QC procedures, ITPs, SOPs, work instructions or manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong computer skills and an interest in digitization, automation and process improvement.
- Comfortable working directly on a manufacturing floor and collaboratively across departments.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Legally permitted to work in Canada.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to attend project sites as required.

Assets Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:
- Curtain wall, windows, doors or glazing
- Aluminum or metal fabrication
- Architectural products or precision manufacturing
- Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement
- NCRs, CAPA, FMEA and root-cause analysis
- ISO-based quality systems
- Quality management or inspection software
- Preventive maintenance systems
- ERP systems
- Digital forms, workflows, dashboards or process automation

A diploma or degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, quality management or a related discipline is an asset, but not required. Who Will Succeed in This Role?

We’re looking for someone who sees quality as more than finding defects.

You should be interested in understanding why problems happen, fixing the underlying process, and finding better ways of doing things. You should be equally comfortable inspecting a fabricated assembly on the shop floor, reviewing a technical drawing, developing a QC procedure, analyzing a recurring problem, or working with another department to improve a process.
