Quality Control Technician

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to support quality inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities within our manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured products and electrical/electronic components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality requirements, and applicable safety standards.
This position works closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to identify product and process issues, support root-cause investigations, maintain quality documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of products, components, and assemblies according to drawings, specifications, BOMs, work instructions, and established quality requirements.
- Conduct electrical, functional, and performance testing of products and electrical/electronic components using appropriate test and measurement equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Identify, document, and control non-conforming materials and products, and support Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), root-cause investigations, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and manufacturing-related quality issues and work with Engineering and Production to identify appropriate corrective actions.
- Support product validation, first-article inspections, new product introductions, engineering changes, and component qualification activities.
- Maintain accurate and traceable inspection records, test results, quality reports, calibration records, and other Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.
- Ensure inspection and test equipment is properly maintained and used in accordance with established calibration and quality requirements.
- Monitor recurring defects and manufacturing quality trends and support continuous improvement and defect-prevention initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure products meet established quality, safety, and customer requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist, Quality/Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in quality control, manufacturing, electrical/electronic testing, or a related technical environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic electrical and electronic principles.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Hands-on experience using electrical test and measurement equipment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), NCR, CAPA, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement principles is an asset.
- Experience with electrical/electronic products, LED lighting, or similar manufacturing environments is an asset.
- Familiarity with product safety and certification requirements is an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and/or Google Workspace.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
