Located in the Central-North Okanagan of British Columbia, KT Ranches is a 1200 head cow-calf and mixed farming-ranching operation. Cattle are 50% commercial and 50% purebred Angus and Simmental. We artificially inseminate select cattle, run an embryo program with our elite animals, raise seedstock, sell semen, and use our commercial cattle as recips. With our recent expansion, we are looking to fill additional positions:

Ranch Manager; separate location with smaller numbers of cows (Kamloops, Housing provided)

We insist on the quiet handling of cattle and are moving toward implementing a Verified Beef Program. Preference is given to applicants with progressive skills and experience in a cow-calf operation or the ability to show how your skills will transfer to our workplace.

All positions require the ability to communicate with a positive attitude, be a continuous learner, accountable, computer literate, goal orientated, with a history in the agriculture industry.

A valid driver’s license is required with preference given to applicants with a Class 1,3, or Heavy Trailer Endorsement (or equivalent) preferred. Willing to pay hourly or a salary consistent with experience and industry standards. Housing can be provided as well as extended health benefits on a 50/50 shared cost.

The ideal candidate(s) will be mechanically inclined and have general knowledge of:





Quiet handling of livestock

Herd health management

Calving, and processing young stock

Registering livestock with purebred associations,

Feeding, growing, grooming, and managing bulls for sale

Artificial insemination, conventional and IVF flushing and implanting embryos

Preference given to candidates who also have skills in operating farm machinery; cultivating, seeding and harvesting of cereal crops, hay and silage.

Any candidate for a manager position must demonstrate the ability to lead, communicate, collaborate with other managers, and work across the purebred and commercial operation as the relationships are intertwined. All cattle experience considered but preference given to those with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the cow-calf purebred industry. Successful candidates must be willing to maintain computerized cattle records in Herdtrax.
